BA First Class With Honours

Alumni of the Year 2012 from BCU.

I am proud to say that IHS is my vision. Black Country born and bred I have always been educated as an engineer as well as an artist and Industrial Historian, so the fabrication of large scale public artworks is something about which I have an understanding and passion.

I graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from UCE in Birmingham which led to a number of large commissions and tenders. After a career early on in Documentary film making (winning the Bronze medal for short film at the London International Short Film Festival) I decided to return to the Black Country to pursue my first love of sculpture.

As well as artwork I work as a consultant, visiting lecturer and recently co-presenter of the prime time Channel 4 television series 'Titanic: The Mission'.

I am an ambitious artist, eager to create the most impressive statement possible with the resources provided, and I believe able to do so due to an industrious and inventive nature coupled with a keen practical knowledge of modern construction and industry techniques.

As well as this I have developed through the organisation and my general life a group of useful friends and contacts such as local councillors, community leaders and historians, local characters and really pro-active members of society who are full of ideas and a wealth of knowledge.

All of my work to the present time has been of a solid and permanent nature; I prefer to work in mediums which stand the test of time. The reason for this is simple; posterity. I believe in building a reputation, and I take great pains to make sure that mine will be one associated with sentiments like imagination, integrity and the old fashioned civic pride. These values are the foundation blocks of Industrial Heritage Stronghold and I am proud to be associated with it as an organisation. We believe in change and being organic as a company, always open to suggestion but on principles of quality and integrity we will never compromise.

I live with my wife Nats (a talented artist herself) and our three chickens in the Black Country where we are constantly causing trouble.
